Plaster ceilings · cornice · cove lighting

Ceilings that quiet a room and shape the light.

PivotPro Interiors is a small Texas studio that specializes in smooth plaster ceilings, decorative coving, and warm hidden LED. We work with homeowners, designers, and architects across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex on projects where the ceiling is part of the brief, not an afterthought.

Hand finished

Every coat is troweled by the same crew lead from start to finish.

Lighting calibrated

LED strip temperature is tuned to the room before the cove closes.

Honest scope

One estimate, written. No surprise change orders mid-week.

We treat the ceiling like a sixth wall, not a leftover.

PivotPro began as a two-person plaster crew working out of a Plano garage in 2011. Today we are a tight team of eight: three plaster finishers, two carpenters, a lighting tech, a project lead, and a designer who keeps the drawings honest.

What did not change is the studio principle. A ceiling has to settle a room without asking for attention. So we obsess over the things you do not photograph: the cove return that catches light, the cornice mitre that disappears in the corner, the joint compound that holds for a decade.

  • 1Walk the room with you, listen to how the space gets used after dark.
  • 2Draft the cove geometry, plaster build-up, and lighting curve as one drawing.
  • 3Build it on site, dust-controlled, with end-of-day photos to your inbox.

What clients tell us six months later.

“The cornice profile they drew up matches our 1948 bungalow better than the originals did. Six months in and the corners are still perfect.”

EMElena M. · Hollywood Heights restoration

“We spec PivotPro for our higher-touch residential builds. They show up clean, leave clean, and the photos sell the room.”

DHDevin H. · Halsey + Pace Architecture

“Our showroom needed to feel calm even with track lighting hammering the floor. Their cove rework softened the whole space.”

RARosa A. · Cassia Showroom, Frisco

A predictable rhythm, room by room.

Step 01

Walk-through

We meet on site, take measurements, and ask how the room actually gets used after sundown.

Step 02

Drawing & quote

Within forty-eight hours you receive a one-page drawing, a build sequence, and a fixed estimate.

Step 03

Build week

Crew on site Monday, dust controls in place, end-of-day photo update sent every evening.

Step 04

Hand-back

We test the lights with you in the dark, walk the corners, and leave a one-year care sheet.

Six things we get asked the most.

Can you install a plaster ceiling over an existing drywall ceiling?
In most cases yes. We assess the substrate, level it, and bond a fresh smooth-finish plaster system over the top. If the existing ceiling has settled or sagged we recommend a partial reset before finishing.
How long does an average residential ceiling project take?
A single living-room flat ceiling with a cove edge typically takes three to five working days, including drying time. Larger multi-room installations are scheduled in phases so you can keep using the rest of the house.
Do you handle the LED strip wiring and dimmer setup?
Yes. Our in-house licensed electrician sizes the driver, lays the strip, and tunes the colour temperature alongside any existing smart-home control before we close up the cove.
Is plaster a good choice if I plan to repaint often?
Plaster takes paint beautifully. We finish with a sealer made for repaint cycles so you can switch palettes without losing the smooth surface.
Do you work with interior designers and architects?
About two thirds of our calendar is collaboration with design studios and architects across DFW. Send us drawings and we will return a build-ready specification within five working days.
What does a free walk-through include?
An on-site visit, room measurements, a discussion of the look you have in mind, and a written estimate within forty-eight hours. There is no obligation to book.

Got a ceiling on your mind?

Send us a couple of photos and your zip code. We will tell you whether a flat finish, a cove, or a full restoration suits the room and what it would cost to do well.
